When my daughter was very young, I struggled to find things that could be just ours. It seemed easy with my son – sports did the trick every time. So when my daughter became a teenager, I encouraged her to take up scuba diving so that she and I could take summer diving trips together. And so for about 10 years, she and I would go off to exotic places to dive and enjoy the pleasure of each other’s company. Each trip was a summer song whose melody and words are always with me.
