Whenever I begin a piece, I hope that something magical will happen; something that will not only surprise me, but also deeply affect me. Transcendence I is, for me, such a work. After finishing this piece, I decided to make two additional related works that would serve to complement the first work. My sense was that if they were exhibited together, the three pieces would give a sense of three stained glass windows.
